Martin Jenkins is a singer songwriter who has been gigging , recording and making music all his life. His music could be described as ‘punky pop’ or edgy indie rock’ and it’s influences range from classic acts like The Beatles, Bowie and Led Zeppellin through to Britpop bands like Blur and Oasis. His strongest influences come from the new wave writing of Elvis Costello, The Police and Julian Cope.
Martin has gigged widely and released singles in Scotland appearing at venues like King Tuts, The Cat House and the Bongo Club with tracks played on most radio stations north of the border.
The highest point came when, involved with a Glasgow production house, five studios were simultaneously recording tracks with different artistes all written or co-written by Martin.
Most recently, he has put together a collection of songs called ‘Faces’. The album includes mixes from Al Clay [Reef,Blur,Stereophonics] and Ren Swann[William Orbitt] and he feels these are the best ‘Martin Jenkins’ tracks yet….
Jim Keilt on guitar and vocals. Jim has recorded and toured with many well known artists including John Otway, The Look, and,...er Middle of the Road ! He’s also shared the bill with everyone from Patti Smith and Uriah Heep to the Village People! One of Jim’s best memories is of playing guitar in ’Tommy’ in London and The Who coming to the show. Pete Townsend complimented him on his guitar playing which Jim is far too modest to ever mention....(AyeRight!!)
He’s also too modest to mention playing The Reading Festival, The Barrowlands etc.(Did I ever tell you about the time……?!) Jim also wrote and produced the official 1990 Sottish World Cup song, although this rarely crops up in conversation.
If you want to hear what the fuss is all about (‘What fuss?’ S.Cowell, London) and hear some great Classic Rock guitar, check out Jim’s solo album ‘Electric Wood’
